2014 Range Rover Sport Named ‘Four Wheeler of the Year’
The Range Rover brand continues to soar in victory as it cops the top spot in another competition. This time, the 2014 Range Rover Sport is named the Four Wheeler of the Year.
While it is no surprise that this road and terrain monster would take the award, the company admits that this is one of the most challenging events for sports vehicles. It is truly a confirmative move that Range Rover is a trusted SUV brand since it competently manages to take on some of the most dangerous courses. Take one for a test drive at Land Rover Hinsdale.
Four Wheeler of the Year awards are not uncommon to the overarching Land Rover brand. This win means Land Rover has now taken this title three times. The vehicles are assessed based on five categories: trail performance, mechanical and empirical data, on-road performance, interior and exterior.
The Range Rover team admitted that there were some tough competitors this year that forced its brand to sharpen the features to boost its edge. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota 4Runner Trailer Premium and the Dodge Durango Limited scored high in most of the categories, but Range Rover still blazed a notch ahead of these tough competitors.
Editor-in-Chief of Four Wheeler Magazine, John Cappa said the judges were impressed with the 2014 Range Rover Sport’s 510 horsepower, nearly 12-inches of ground clearance, approximately 11 inches of wheel travel at each corner, and the traction control system that allows the driver to utilize these features on and off the road. As a performance-oriented brand, Range Rover will forever surpass its competitors in achievements. Stop by Land Rover Hinsdale for a great selection of new and used vehicles.
