Collaboration on Evoque_e Research Project
Jaguar Land Rover will embark on a new research project focusing on the development of hybrid vehicles and all-electric technology using the Evoque as a base platform. The company has invested a lot of work in the production and testing of dually powered vehicles over the past years. They have achieved tremendous success thus far as these vehicles offer better fuel management and are generally much safer for the environment.
The Evoque_e Project which will be funded by the British Government will also include the support of important automotive suppliers, industry groups and the scholars at top universities in the United Kingdom. This research project is expected to last for two years so that at the end of the process Jaguar Land Rover can produce credible, reliable electric vehicles.
The gradual move to the hybrid automotive culture is timely as the world faces serious environmental challenges. The green campaigners are especially enthusiastic about these initiatives because it indicates that automotive companies recognize the value of keeping the earth free of toxins.
By the end of October, the Evoque_e researchers would have made significant progress in the development of three electrified prototypes: A mild hybrid, a plug-in hybrid and a battery-powered electric. While it is good to use earth materials to lessen the weight of big unit vehicles, the depletion of these rare and precious natural resources is a concern. Therefore the research will look at the viability of using alternative materials to cut back on the heavy weight of SUVs. Jaguar Land Rover is excited about this upcoming project as it seals their interest in making a valuable contribution to sustainable development.
Land Rover is doing it’s part in the sustainability development and Land Rover Hinsdale couldn’t be prouder!
