Hinsdale Hosts Fine Arts Festival
The community of Hinsdale was transformed into an artistic paradise as over 100 artists from all parts of America converge at this year’s staging of the Fine Arts Festival. In its 40th year of celebration the panel of adjudicators are pleased to announce that over 200 submissions were received from talented artists across the country. However, only 110 of these artists showcased their pieces at the festival.
The festival included ceramics, jewelry, painting, photography, fiber art and mixed media exhibits and booths. This variety art event is definitely a highlight of summer 2013.
The two day event took place over the weekend, June 8-9. It also included a fabulous children display area by the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation. The kids were quite involved in the festivity as they were eager to create their own artwork. Indeed, among these amateur drawings, were rich artistic talent as the children’s work were looking good.
The artsy momentum was built from middle of the week at the Uniquely Thursday concert as some of the artists treated patrons to small displays of their work. One of the great fiber artists, Tammy L. Deck shared his appreciation for this Arts Festival. He said it is the perfect opportunity for artists to make money on their work as many patrons are practically spending their last dime on these wonderful art pieces. He implores more artists to be in attendance at this fantastic arts and culture show to market their work and promote their business.
The community of Hinsdale cannot wait for next year’s celebration of the Fine Arts Festival. They hope to see you there!
