Keeping The Ear To The Rail
Because of the healthy trend of sales in the U.S. of Jaguar/Land Rover vehicles there are plans for new design centers to be built here in our country. China will also be getting these new design centers for as that country is #3 in demand for the Rover behind the UK at #1 and the U.S. at #2.
With the high sales numbers in these to areas of the world, the Land Rover company wants to take advantage of the trends and social through-lines of the citizens of the countries. Creating design centers in the United States and China will allow the builders of the vehicle to be closer to that information.
According to an interview within Automotive News Europe, Ian Callum, the new director of design for Land Rover/Jaguar, the company will always remain unmistakably British but that efforts always need to be made to capture the tastes of consumers in select markets.
