Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept
Get excited, America. One of the most revered names in four-wheel off-road greatness is about to make a roaring comeback: the Land Rover Discovery. While it may not be true to the original that has gone to the great parking lot in the sky, it will signal the arrival of a new sub-brand from the British company.
Set to be unveiled at the upcoming New York auto show, the Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept is poised to preview a whole new line of premium family SUVs from the company. The LR4, which is named the Discovery globally, is overdue for a revamp and the concept will tease what is to come.
Gerry McGovern, Design Director and Chief Creative Officer for Land Rover commented, “Discovery has been pivotal in helping to build the foundations of the Land Rover brand. It is admired all over the world and loved by its strong customer base. We have created the Vision Concept to share the essence of Land Rover’s new age of Discovery and to debut a new, compelling, relevant design direction that connects on an emotional level with customers of today and tomorrow.”
Before the reveal, little is known about what exactly the concept will look like. The teaser image leaked by Land Rover shows a futuristic and elegantly designed interior that Land Rover has come to be known for. On the infotainment screen in the teaser image, a shapely silhouette is clearly visible. If the concept looks like the silhouette, and makes it to production, Land Rover will have another automotive smash hit on its hands.
Over the past 10 years, Land Rover has had a focus on diversifying their lineup. Adding more upscale models like the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover. To the more city oriented Range Rover Evoque and LR2. And Maintaining their rugged Off-Road heritage with the LR3 and LR4. The addition of this new Discovery follows the change in Land Rover owner’s desire of having a vehicle that can get them to their isolated mountain chalet, while maintaining proper on-road characteristics.
The Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept will only help Land Rover as it competes in an increasingly competitive SUV market. For the latest information on all that Land Rover has to offer, contact Land Rover Hinsdale today at 866-857-7638.
