Land Rover Introduces Pick-Up Trucks
There has been so much ongoing speculation about the LR pick-up, many believed it would forever stay a concept. The company recently stated that a pickup variant will follow the debut of the smaller 4×4.
This is great news for many Land Rover enthusiasts requiring a vehicle that can be used to transport farm produce and other large equipment. Lead Designer at Land Rover, Gerry McGovern recently confirmed the introduction of Land Rover pickups in an interview with the media. McGovern said that the new Defender pick-up will certainly be a chief competitor in that sphere of the transport industry as it outweighs the performance of key competitors such as Volkswagen Amarok, Chevrolet Colorado and Ford Ranger.
The last time the company spoke about the introduction of pick-ups to its Defender line was in 2011. However, this leading automotive force has made several strides to the development of pick-up trucks since then. The release of these new pick-ups on the market should be shortly underway. The Chevrolet Colorado should be on the road by late 2014 so automotive critics urge Land Rover to expedite the production of these pick-ups if it wishes to get a share of the market.
However, the release of the new Chevrolet pickup is no threat to Land Rover since its customers remain loyal. Furthermore, there is an uncompromising value of Land Rover products that other car manufacturers would kill for. Whether it will take two more years or maybe a little bit longer, McGovern states that the new Defender pick-up will definitely be the talk of the town for quite some time.
