Naperville Gears Up for the Last Fling
At Land Rover Hinsdale we understand that summer is a time to focus on outdoor fun with family and friends. It is the season in which we take long walks in the park, ride our bicycles, dine out at new restaurants, and frequent the surrounding area’s fairs and festivals. All of us at Land Rover Hinsdale are especially looking forward to one festival in particular, the Naperville Jaycees 2014 Last Fling on Labor Day weekend!
This particular weekend marks the end of the summer and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than getting your family in your Land Rover and heading out for a sunny day in Naperville. The Last Fling will run from Friday, August 29th through Monday, September 1st and we encourage everyone in the area to check it out.
No matter what you like to do or may find entertaining, the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling has something for all ages. Live music performances will grace the Main Stage Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, but it doesn’t stop there. The Main Stage also hosts two acts on Monday afternoon. The hit band, Smash Mouth, will close out the evening shows on Sunday night.
Family Fun Land is another area of the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling that boasts an array of activities for children of all ages. This particular section of the festival will host a pony ride and petting zoo, craft area, and food and beverages. The Family Fun Land Stage has something going on every day, which includes a bunch of fun things to try like meeting some cold blooded creatures like alligators and snakes to watching an interactive magic show.
This Labor Day extravaganza will also have carnival rides, senior bingo, an apple pie bake off, slam-dunk contest, bed races, horseshoe toss competition, sand volleyball tournament, rib cook-off, eating contests ranging from apple pie to ice cream to spaghetti and a diaper derby. There truly is something for everyone at the Last Fling.
On Monday, September 1st, the Naperville Jaycees will host a parade scheduled to start at 10am, followed by a race they sponsor called the Fling Mile. This mile long competition is primarily a downhill course that ends up following most of the parade through downtown Naperville.
There is no physical address for the Naperville Jaycees 2014 Last Fling but their website suggests using the Naperville Central High School at 440 W. Aurora Avenue, Naperville 60540 as a GPS destination. With so many options to choose from, all of us at Land Rover Hinsdale think you should stop over to the Last Fling with friends and family. We know we will. It’s the perfect way to bid farewell to the summer in a fun and exciting way.
