Seeing green at the Geneva Motor Show
In a recent article published by EnvironmentalLeaders.com, the folks here at Bill Jacobs got a rundown of the publication’s favorite green cars currently on display at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland. And we must admit that we weren’t surprised to see Land Rover at the top of the list.
The editors at EnvironmentalLeader.com honed in on the seven new electric models of the Defender off-road vehicle. They explained that the standard diesel engine and gearbox were replaced by an electric motor “twinned with a 300-volt, lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 27kWh, giving a range of more than 50 miles.” They went on to say that during typical, low-speed off-road use, the Defender is able to run for nearly eight hours before needing a recharge.
Even though the Defender isn’t available in the United States, we here at Bill Jacobs are incredibly proud to represent an automaker that takes the future of the planet seriously. To learn about Land Rover models that are paving the green way stateside, swing by the dealership. We’re always happy to talk about Land Rover’s eco-friendly initiatives.
